AOAWRBHU:

Apparently, another clear illustration of spiritual powers of shrines.

End of the day, it's a spiritual kick that gives one a paradigm shift – She's brave enough to declare one after visiting the shrine -- yet, unfortunately, in countries like Pakistan Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, wahabi extremists are bombing shrines.

I think her story is also, timely and spiritually linked to an illogical outrage being expressed by extremists wahabis against shrine visitors, while the saints resting in those shrines are indeed the Anamta- Alaihim.

Note: BB Fatima -Al Mausomeh (s.a) resting in Qom is the sister of Imam Reza (a.s.)

After Blair's conversion to Catholicism, his sister in law says: I'm a Muslim

By David Wilkes
Last updated at 8:29 AM on 25th October 2010 Conversion: Lauren booth chose to become a Muslim after a holy experience at a shrine in Iran

It could certainly make family get-togethers interesting.

Tony Blair's sister-in-law Lauren Booth has converted to Islam.

The former prime minister is also a religious convert – he became a Roman Catholic after leaving office in 2007.

Miss Booth, who is Cherie Blair's half sister, decided to adopt her new faith after what she described as a holy experience in Iran.

She now covers her head with a hijab when she leaves home, has given up alcohol and visits a mosque 'when she can'.

The 43-year-old mother of two, who has long sympathised with the Muslim cause, described how she had a religious awakening six weeks ago on a visit to a shrine in the Iranian holy city of Qom.

'I sat down and felt this shot of spiritual morphine, just absolute bliss and joy,' she said. The former reality TV contestant decided to convert immediately on her return to Britain.

'I always felt that the ummah [Muslim community] is a very loving, peaceful place and I am proud to be a member of it,' she said.

Miss Booth, also a journalist and human rights campaigner, has stopped eating pork, reads the Koran every day and has not ruled out wearing a burka in the future.

'I also haven't had a drink in 45 days, the longest period in 25 years,' she said. 'The strange thing is that since I decided to convert I haven't wanted to touch alcohol, and I was someone who craved a glass of wine or two at the end of a day.'

Miss Booth works for Press TV, the English-language Iranian news channel, and has worn a head scarf on screen.

She announced her conversion at the Global Peace and Unity Event in London on Saturday. To cheers, she said: 'What I wanted to share with you today is that I am Lauren Booth and I am a Muslim.'

Critical: Miss Booth was a vocal opponent of the Iraq war and recently attacked Tony Blair accusing him of a bias towards Israel

Miss Booth's conversion follows a turbulent time in her personal life, during which her marriage to actor Craig Darby hit the rocks. She described publicly how she had fallen on hard times and was being forced to return to Britain after six years in rural France with her family.

Miss Booth was a vocal opponent of the Iraq war and recently criticised Mr Blair, accusing him of bias towards Israel.

She said: 'Your world view is that Muslims, are mad, bad, dangerous to know. A contagion to be contained.'

Her conversion was welcomed on Muslim internet forums. One post read: 'Now a war criminal has an innocent sister in law! God bless her!'

But not all the comments were so favourable. Another read: 'Lauren Booth craves attention, that's all.'

your argument is flawed, for there is an australian living in pakistan who converted after attending a qawwali party, but this doesn't make qawwali correct.

anyhow, everyone has his own reason but that doesn't make that reason correct.

and I welcome her embracing Islam, and I pray that she doesn't become a polytheist-Muslim.

you know there are so called Muslims who also invoke upon Muhammad (peace be upon him), Ali ra.gif, Fatima ra.gif, Hasan ra.gif , Hussain ra.gif

I pray she doesn't become one of those who invoke upon others besides Allah.

Kalam, please correct our understanding, if you Invoke your Father and Mother, does that also make you a pluralist. As per your above quoted instatment, BESIDES ALLAH, you can not invoke anyone? Can you swear upon Allah (swt), and testify on this forum that you have never invoked your Parents to make supplication for you?

If the answer is negative; that is, Yes, you have indeed asked your parents to pray for you, then how do you justify that appeal to your parents instead of Allah (swt)

If the answer is positive; that is, NO, you have never asked your parents to pray for you, then personally I feel it's quite unfortunate. Keeps on reminding me the attribute of Iblees, who refused to offer Sajdah to Hazrat-e Adam (pbuh), with the same logic, that I can not invoke anyone else other than Allah (swt).

I am amazed how can you even see a comparison in telling your parents to pray for you and to say "O Jesus, help us!"

Dude, when you tell your parents to pray for you, that is not called invoking upon the parents.

But when you say O Jesus, help me, O Ali help me, this is called invoking upon Jesus and Ali. If you reject such things, than nowhere is the difference between shias and sunnis.

I may ignore your argument next time if you again equalize telling your parents to pray for you to calling upon Jesus and Ali.

It seems to me a complete waste of time trying to explain such simple things.

Asking for a simple answer -- who's involved in Others and who's not?
and How can you justify asking your parents to pray for you?

Question is not about only Jesus (pbuh) or Imam Ali (a.s.) , but you raised a question which is quoted above saying, OTHERS besides Allah?

So in your belief system, who's allowed in Others and based on your quoted logic of no one is allowed other than Allah (swt), then how do you justify, to make someone to supplicate for you?

Would appreciate a simple and clear answer.

who is saying that I prefer her to remain non Muslim?
I only said that I wish she doesn't become a polytheist Muslim, a Muslim who calls upon others too besides God. It doesn't mean that if she becomes one of them, than I prefer her to remain non Muslim. You are making too much assumptions.

Kalam --

Why do you add Razi Allah in front of the names?
Are you allowed to pray for others? If so, do you belief Allah (swt) will listen to your prayer, when you say, May Allah (pbuh) be pleased with Him/Them?
Why do you think Allah (swt) will listen to your prayers/supplication for others?

Who has given you the authority to pray for others, and why do you in first place intercede to do so?

You used the term Polytheist which means you still consider her kaffir if she believed in tawassul. According to you a Muslims who believes in tawasul is a mushrik in reality.

There is a difference between a polytheist and a Muslim having some polytheistic tendencies. E.g we say that showing off "riya" is shirk. Now if a Muslim does this, we will not say that he is Mushrik. But we will say that he is doing an act of shirk.

The red highlighted text posted by me, were infact a loud echoed reflection of your thoughts which I gathered on the topic of Tawassul --

So I am glad that you expressed your own rigidness through a Beyond Repair statement.

Obviously, you are engravedly confused if you think of someone as Dead, and then recite Razi Allah upon him?

I suggest take a clear stand on your views than further bewildering your own already half cooked understanding -- upon System of Delivering and Receiving a Message through MESSENGER (pbuh) -- that is, System of Risalaat. It shall remain continued and is never a One WAY Traffic !

Learn the meaning of Risalat!
