The word trinity is not found in the Bible:

From: Brother Wikipedia:

QUOTE
he New Testament also does not use the word "Τριάς" (Trinity), nor explicitly teach it. The Trinity article in Encyclopedia Britannica states: "Neither the word Trinity nor the explicit doctrine appears in the New Testament, nor did Jesus and his followers intend to contradict the Shema in the Old Testament: "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord" (Deuteronomy 6:4)."Encyclopedia of Religion, for example, argues that "God the Father is source of all that is (Pantokrator) and also the father of Jesus Christ. Early liturgical and creedal formulas speak of God as "Father of our Lord Jesus Christ"; praise is to be rendered to God through Christ (see opening greeting in Paul and deutero-Paul). There are other binitarian texts (e.g., Romans 4:24; Romans 8:11; 2 Corinthians 4:14; Colossians 2:12; 1 Timothy 2:5–6; 1 Timothy 6:13; 2 Timothy 4:1), and a few triadic texts (the strongest are 2 Corinthians 13:14 and Matthew 28:19)."

But the New Testament does mention it:

Scriptures

Matthew 28:19 (New Living Translation)

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[a] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Scriptures

2 Corinthians 13:14 (New International Version)

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

The Matthew quotation is Jesus speaking:

Scriptures
Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:16-20)

There is a Godhead
2 Corinthians 13:14 (NASB)
14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.

God the Father
John 8:54 (NASB)
54 Jesus answered, “If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; it is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God’;

God the Son
John 1:14 (NASB)

14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

God the Holy Spirit/the Spirit of God
Acts 13:2–4 (NASB)
2 While they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
3 Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
4 So, being sent out by the Holy
...

Rank
Father 1st
John 10:29 (NASB)
29 “My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.

Jesus 2nd
1 Corinthians 11:3 (NASB)
3 But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ.

Spirit 3rd because Jesus at Right hand of God
Mark 16:19 (NASB)
19 So then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

God saying Jesus is his son
Matthew 3:17 (NASB)
17 and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.”

Jesus saying he is the son
John 14:20 (NASB)
20 “In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.

I hope this helps

Good evening Australia!

Jesus said: 'Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20

But the trinity is also mentioned well before the New testament:

The Holy Spirit is in the very first lines of the Torah/Old Testament as he was hovering over the waters on the first day of creation.

Genesis 1:1 says: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

In Genesis God refers to himself as 'us' and 'our':

'Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness,"'Genesis 1:26

Jesus said 'Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves.' (John 14:9-12)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it' (John:1-2)

Jesus said 'I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.' John 17: 20-24

There are many places in the bible where Jesus claims to be God not just in words but in his actions too but if you are not familar with the Old testament it can be hard to see this because jesus constantly quotes from it.

Mark 14 chapter 60-65;

... Again the high priest asked him"Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed one?"
"I am" said Jesus. "And you will see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty one and coming on the clouds of heaven."

Jesus answers 'I am' many times in the bible when he is asked who he is.

Jesus often says 'Iam' in the bible when asked if he is God. This is really significant because when Moses asked God his name God said "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.'"Exodus 3:14

The Old testament Prophet Zachariah wrote that that someone with salvation would arrive in Jerusalem/Zion on a colt:

Link to Zechariah 9:9

Jesus fufilled this deliberately by arriving in Jerusalem on the colt of a donkey.

Link to Mark 11

During the time of the Old Testament the Holy Spirit was almost completely confined to the nation of Israel. The complete outpouring of the Holy Spirit for the entire world of believers only happened on the day of Pentecost in the New Testament:
Jesus says in John 15: 26-27

"When the Counsellor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me. And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning"

Acts 2:1-4 says 'When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.'

New Christians are often taken by surprise when they are filled with the Holy Spirit for the first time. I certainly was! Truly his force shocked me and this force is what Christians are talking about when they say they 'know God' or they speak about being in the 'presence of the Living God' or even 'God told me.' I do not expect anyone to believe me! I would not have believed this before I became a born again Christian!

Real Christianity is not about theorists telling us what to think, people with degrees in divinity or doctorates arguing over scripture verses on our behalf! It's not about Bishops, priests or pastors! It is about us and God. It is about real people being with the living God right now. Speaking to him personally, being with him and obeying him directly and knowing him personally via the Holy Spirit. This is what some Christians mean when they say they hate religion! It's a real relationship, a living relationship, not a religion. The Holy Spirit is a real person! I know him! He lives in me!

I worship one God. The only way I can think of discribing the trinity to you is like an egg. It has a shell, a white and a yolk. There are 3 parts of the egg but it is still one egg.

Some people discribe the trinity as H20, it can be frozen and become ice, it can become steam and liquid water but it is still the same substance.

Thank you for giving me the chance to share my faith with you

May God bless you

Nicky

Interesting question you have about the trinity. I am Christian myself. In the bible people brought gifts and worshiped Jesus as a baby. This would certainly contradict the old testament view of only worshiping "God." So then comes the ideology of a "God Head." Which is the same argument Mormons will use. In their "doctrine of covenants" it teaches God has a father, mother and wife. The struggle here is you have multiple gods. This is then rationalized by the "God Head," argument. So as a Christian I have to acknowledge the trinity is a complicated ideology to try and understand the complexity of God; but then again I also identify myself as a conforming Seik. So I believe through life's struggles "we" are collectively learning and understanding the things of God. I believe he manifested his love through "Jesus Christ," in a way our collective consciousness could understand it at the time. He sacrificed himself and yet his son. The two most challenging things for "ones" own ego to surrender. I believe there are multiple paths to God. A devout Islam could shed his pride and ego. Ego and pride seem to be a universal element that separate us from each other and God. Jesus two most important commandments: Love the Lord the God with all thy heart and soul, love thy neighbor as thyself. Anyways, I explained all this so you could have an idea as to why I'm not so dis-shoveled finding inconsistencies in the bible; and yet can still wholeheartedly call myself a Christian. Many Christians will have a problem with this.

Salaam

Dave
