I consider my race more of an adjective. Its an incidental part of me that I have to be bengali. I am a person that happens to be bengali. I dont find anything more to it. But thats just me. Theres nothing wrong with cultural nationalism. I just dont have it.

THe country is literally the armpit of India. The Ganges gets there as a floating river of waste, the groundwater has ridiculous amounts of arsenic in it, and the soil is poor for farming. The country itself is economically poor. Very, very poor. But the food is good, the people are generally cool, and the government is cleaning up. New technology is helping Bangladesh advance in human rights and providing jobs and health. The people of West Bengal are advancing as well, coming out of a primarily communist/socialist government and going towards mixed market economy. It's getting better in Desistan (my word, and it sounds racist, but isn't).

Yup.

Sartaj, india pakistan and bagladesh are one, once upon a time and we(im an indian) are culturally same from indus valley civilization, i dont think culture of bangladeshis are different from west bengal which is an indian state, though the condition of bangladesh is not good and its obvious cuz the country is not old it became bangladesh just after 1947 when india got independent so it will take time for bangladesh to stand up as a progressed nation.

Your right, they are similar. However, Bangladesh has alot of Oriental influence. In fact, I see alot of indian/chinese mixes in Bangladesh since it is between Mynamar and India.

Salam

The bengali friends that I have look quite chinese-ish happy.gif

And yes, due to the fact that Bangladesh gained it's independence not so long ago, it will take it's time in terms of economic growth etc. I'm not bengali but i know loads of them and it's pretty cool guitar.gif lol

I love being a bangali and muslim an everything else i have in me. love the fact that i can identify myself as "this" and "that" rather dan be a mix of so many identity to the point i don't have any..

true bangaldesh isn't the riches/fasters/ or cleanest nation.. but we got our good n bad like all nation.

it might be poor, but look where USA or other well-to-do nation had been 35 years after birth.. WE are doing pretty good, better than most nation at this time scale

We do have mixture of many nation. every group that took over indian subcontinent, bangladesh was right inthe center. Hence, we were able 2 mix with others around the world long before immigration became legal. It is a nation thats mixed of many nation.. its awsome to be such identity
