Allaah does not ask us to harm ourselves in order to be forgiven.

Allaah tests us in order to forgive us, and when any harm befalls us and we have sabr (patience), then Allaah rewards us for it.

It comes in a hadeeth about how amazing is the affairs of a muslim, if goodness comes to him and he makes shukr (is thankful) then he is rewarded, and if any hardship befalls him and he has sabr (is patient) then he will be rewarded.

Allaah gave us a month of fasting, abstaining from food and drink and sexual relations and all bad things like lying and so on (even though it is forbidden at other times too), even that hunger that you feel while fasting you are rewarded for.

Allaah rewards us and forgives us for every little thing if we do it for his sake and according to His wishes.

As i mentioned forgiveness above i'll mention a hadeeth about it too, if so much as a thorn pricks you then Allaah wipes away a sin of yours, so something as small as a thorn prick (as we'd say a pin prick).

Allaah is not called The Most Forgiving and The Most Merciful for nothing, Allaah has given us laws to follow, and if we follow that then Allaah will reward us with jannah (heaven) Inshaa Allaah, but Allaah has not asked that we harm ourselves in order to be forgiven or rewarded.

Usama,
I want you to know that inflicting physical pain as a sign of penance is not what all Christians do. The belief is supposed to be outdated and is mainly a Catholic idea.

Christians believe in the redemption through Christ ressurection for our sins. I know that as a Muslim you don't believe that Christ ever died, but we (Christians) do. So our true penance or repentance comes when we confess our sins to God and even to one another and then ask for forgiveness; having it in our hearts that we are to commit our sin no more.

I mean no offense, I'm just wondering is it true that in the Islamic view of Heaven, there is sexual intercourse?

I came across this randomly, and I recalled this topic, so I thought i'd paste it in.

Sura 43

My devotees! No fear shall be on you that Day nor shall ye grieve― (68) (Being) those who have believed in Our Signs and bowed (their wills to Ours) in Islam. (69) Enter ye the Garden, ye and your wives, in (beauty and) rejoicing. (70) To them will be passed round, dishes and goblets of gold: there will be there all that the souls could desire all that the eyes could delight in: and ye shall abide therein (for aye). (71) Such will be the Garden of which ye are made heirs for your (good) deeds (in life). (72) Ye shall have therein abundance of fruit, from which ye shall have satisfaction. (73)

So in answer to your question, I guess if the soul desires it, then its there.

(Personally, I'm looking forward to the steak...yum tongue.gif (and if i dont make it, would one u be kind enough to send some down for me cheff.gif ))

I asked someone what about the pious women? - they said the same thing vice versa...

& Mataramos - you're too young to be asking these questions.

Ps. You might want to reconsider Islam. biggrin.gif

Ofcourse there will be sexual intercourse.

quran makes it clear. There are plenty of verses.
Here are some samples.

quran 55:74. Whom no man or jinn yatmithhunna (has opened their hymens with sexual intercourse) before them.

55;56. Wherein both will be those (maidens) restraining their glances upon their husbands, whom no man or jinn yatmithhunna (has opened their hymens with sexual intercourse) before them.

78:33 And young full-breasted (mature) maidens of equal age

Sorry, I'm a Christian, but you're not really selling our heaven very well!!! Think I would rather go to the Islam heaven. Why would God "need us" to be these entities leached on to him, just praising him? Isn't he already perfect and just the way he is? I would say there are many joys in heaven no written word can describe. We can try, but we won't even come close. The bible talks about streets of gold. So obviously the Christian Heaven has people in it that appreciate worldly beauty. Sex is a wonderful thing with a loving partner. Sorry had to help our side out, at least a little bit.

Paradise is the abode of delight which God prepared for His believing slaves and those who are pious and righteous reward of their faith and their sincere interest in the world
My brother and I know that heaven is above what you read or hear and above what comes to mind where our awareness that does not take heaven because we know this world Bakderma Utena

aradise is not one but four Jinan and told eight, but between heaven and the other differential in bliss and the highest heavens of Paradise and then Aden and then the mole shelter

Every believer in Paradise wives of the women of this world and poplar eye on your business as much as that of Muslim women in Paradise will be better than beautiful virgins and morals and that virgins had served them, nor envy nor hatred, but brothers and Thab
