Would you put your parents into a nursing home? Or would you prefer them to stay with you?

Be honest- would you give up part of your home for your parents?

Personally, I really want my parents to live with me, my mum is more like a sister than a mother, and I want to stay near her for as long as possible because she is so cool. She wouldn't nag me, or anything like that... Also, I think the fact that they looked after you your whole life means that you should show them the same consideration. Also, it means that karma ensures that your children will also look after you wink.gif

I was talking to my mum about this today, and she can't wait to go into a posh nursing home, because she thinks it'll be awesome to have all her little friends in the nursing village and play bingo and knit and stuff.. haha! I haven't yet figured out if she's joking... Hmmm

LOL saira, thank you for not having the intention to send me to an old people's home hahaha

Okay, now to get serious

No I would never put my parents in a nursing home, they done so much to bring me up and care for me, even when I refused care they still gave it to me alhamdulillah, therefore they shall not go to a nursing home- another reason is that i would feel uncomfortable with the idea. I would prefer they be around their loved ones all the while, and be cared for in their old age inshAllah.
I reckon old age is one of the beautiful times of a person's life, and to make it beautiful, people need to be as close to their loved ones as possible...it's like a vacation from distress- they have done so much to provide for us, but now it's our turn to provide for them and they deserve it smile.gif

NO TO NURSING HOME! THEY TOOK CARE OF ME AND ITS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO TAKE CARE OF THEM. I ALWAYS THINK LIKE THIS...

In a few years I will be working me and my brother will pitch in money to buy one house, live there together. My bro on second floor, parents on the first, and me in the basement. Parents in the center, the got the control. We will always pass through the first floor to get to second and the basement.

Funny story right? But I am going to make it come true. Read my signature. You will learn a lot from the two statements.

No i wouldn't do that. Parents are a gift for us from ALLAH, we are nothing without them. ALLAH will reward us for serving and respecting our parents. ALLAH said "there is a heaven under the foot of your mother"

Depends on what my mom would want.

Would I take care of my mom when she's old? Yes. Is it something in my heart of hearts that I want to do? No.
