OK...
It's hardly a review. It very, very biased. I'm not saying the points raised are wrong or anything like that. It's just that they're details. It sounds as if the author of the biography or the review is obsessed by sex (maybe both actually).
Most people wouldn't read a biography of Shabazz to learn about his sex life or his parents' mariage. If that's all the book talks about then blame it for focusing on distractions, not for being wrong about stuff which would cause most people to skip pages anyway.
I want to read about what he was trying to achieve, how it changed over time and why. I want to read about the significance of his work. I want to read about him being manipulative, sincere or confused. I want to read about what he was proud about and his regrets. The review mentions Ben Bella and yeah: I definitely want to read about that (Castro and gang, not so much). My personal interests aren't material but a good review should at least go over how the book handles the stuff Shabazz is known for and which actually matters. What about the ballot or the bullet? King's dream? Hajj? You know what I'm talking about.

Imam Saraj Wahaj(former NoI member) has a good set of videos about Malcolm X if you are interested, msazad.

Thanks. I watched little bits of his class. He's a good speaker and sounds like a perceptive and intelligent man. The perspective of the class isn't really what I'm interested in (I'm not and have never been Muslim or NoI) but it was interesting.
If you think there's a part I'd be more interested in, do tell (I'm not going to sit through it all).
