yea....sometimes in a restaurant with tartar sauce and some tabasco. and with a knife and fork (cos all the other meat options aren't usually halal...)

but i'd rather just get it in newspaper dripping with vinegar (actually, not *too* much vinegar) and not too much salt either (cos its bad for you...although i dont know why i avoid salt when i dont care much about any other unhealthy things! tongue.gif) and then i dig in and my hands get messy...

its good rain food smile.gif

yikes, i feel hungry now.

ohh I used to LOVE fish and chips before..long ago.
But now I just think of all the fat and salt and ugh.. makes me feel a bit ill.

SO, if i do have chips they're oven-baked and same goes for fish (usually grilled). But I do try and have my 2-3 portions of fish a week. And the meal is always accompanied by a vegetable or two (peas/beans/sweetcorn/salad-consisting of tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce and olives smile.gif )

I'm trying to avoid anything fried or high in saturated fats. Slowly, slowly, I'm changing my diet into a healthy one!

My challenge At the moment is to substitute white bread for wholemeal and cut all cheese out of my diet. Which seems to be going well, alhamdulillah!

But classic fish and chips, a big no-no!

LOL yea! thank god for the high metabolism otherwise, i'd actually be a fatty :S but yea, my arteries are probably getting clogged up as we speak but thats what the NHS is for! laugh.gif

when we have fish and chips at home, it all goes in the oven tho...and we dont buy fish and chips from outside often cos its quite expensive. but its much nicer, especially harry ramsdens...oh man im feeling hungry again! lol

That's my point. I'm not fat. No where near. My BMI is less than what it should be for someone of my height. But, see, I'm not that bothered about what I look like now..I'd hate it that when (if) my rate of metabolism slows down and I'm still eating unhealthily..I'll be all fat and horrible.
Also, regardless of how you look on the outside..think of your heart and other organs!!

Besides! The food I eat doesn't taste horrible. It's really quite nice..it's not like I'm suffering giving up a bit of salt. sleep.gif

Trust you to say that dry.gif
But even the NHS's assistance is limited if someone is in need of a heart transplant..

Back to the topic:
When I was younger I'd eat fish and chips...but then they stopped being halal in our area :/ (frying in beef lard and that) so we couldn't eat it. A few years back some halal takeaways opened, but after not having it for so long, I'd stopped missing it.. blink.gif
