i was just wondering... if we belive in all of the Prophets
and we celebrate Prophet MUHAMMAD

Birthday
why don't we celebrate the birth of Prophet Jesus?
He is our Prophet after all??

Well for one, Jesus wasn't born on the 25th of December....

blame the Romans....

secondly we don't celebrate on rasoolallah's(SAWS) birthday.

Some remember him and use that to submit to ALLAH(SWT) better.
Remember he didn't celebrate his own Brita....

That's something we should keep in mind...

Christmas is superficial, and is the day Christians celebrate the day god came to earth...

Its tainted with paganism....#1 the roman intervention moving it to the winter solstice...

#2 the whole Jesus is god thing...

#3 capitalism...

Muslims have our set holy days....

Are you muslim?

If you are muslim this is very grave indeed.

Easter celebrates a resurrection, after a death that we do not believe happened.

Thanksgiving, its story is a lie in itself.

And I already gave reasons for Christmas.

Christmas, the American way is not about Jesus, Its not even on his real birthday.

One thing please confirm, giveme one name of a Sahabah who celebrated the prophet's

bday, tell me one thing more than half the people that celebrate this need to ask themselves if they are such lovers of the Prophet

why is it we hardly see any of his Sunnats in their lives....

This question intrigues me. Happy Christmas to all who celebrate it.

chailvr, I'm not sure a Christian can be a proper Marxist due to Marxism deep-rooted atheism. However, some socialist ideals have certainly crept in to modern Liberation Theology (look it up, really not that interesting)

Ive said this before and ill say it again:

CHRISTMAS WAS NOT JESUS'S BIRTHDAY. Its not even close. it used to be a pagan holiday in Eastern Europe and after a massive amount of people converted they also wanted to keep their holidays so they made Dec 25 Christmas. Read the wikipedia article for more info.

Jesus was born more around March 25.

Chistmas being Jesus's birthday is one of the biggest myths in society. Its not really a religious holiday but it was turned into one. The true Christian holiday is Easter, celebrating Jesus's ressurection, and Lent, the 40 days before Easter.

I think the Christian interpretation of Jesus makes him socialist. Love thy enemy, share, etc.

It doesn’t matter whether it was his birthday or not, what matters is what the actual day represents, and it is the closest to his birthday. There were some research and calculation done and then the date was set.

And for a while the puritans banned Christmas, so many of the traditions carried out on Christmas day was forgotten and then later brought back…

The prophet Muhammad pbuh did not celebrate Jesus pbuh birthday nor did he tell us to do so. Some Muslims celebrate the birth of Muhammad but it is haram. Although we regard Jesus pbuh highly we do not celebrate his birthday b/c Allah sent many messengers and we are to love them equally, if we celebrate one prophets birthday what about the rest? And what is the significance of such celebration.

That site is a pseduocult, you might want to get your understanding of mainstream Christian thought elsewhere.

Christmas day is not special because Jesus was born on that day (he was not), it is special because on that day, we celebrate the birth of Jesus and His Incarnation.

Translation: Christmas is biddah for Christians.
Why choose a day when people prayed to Idols?

That site was made by a Christian(Church of God), who felt that they shouldn't even celebrate this day of the "SUN".

They gave a pretty nice argument too....

They stayed away from the politics of sectarianism, and used a straightforward argument using the bible.
