The guy with the most electoral votes.

I'm going for Obama for the win!

Here is a question to all the non americans on MO. If you was an american who would you vote for and why?

Salaam iamcrazy biggrin.gif

Well first of all, I'm not old enough to legally vote.

And second of all, democracy is a Taghut way of living that takes us a way from our Shari'ah. I'm hoping these elections are a time for the people of America to wake up and see what their country really represents as well as the Muslims to take great strides forward and show their love for their Deen through Da'wah, and, well- not voting.

This election will Insh'Allah, be a time for the Muslims to undertake a Tajdeed (revival) in their Imaan and 'Aqeedah, and not to assimilate further into a disbelieving society.

On a different topic, I found an interesting article on why it's time for the West to adopt Islaamic economics. Subhan'Allah! Islaam does have answers for everything. smile.gif

Wasalaam.

depends on what he does.

people will step back and look at america's foreign policy, and if they see more of the pre-emptive strikes and lack of sufficient multilateral dialogue it wont be long before everyone feels a sense of deja vu.

but if they see positive action towards the environment as an example, then somethiing small like that will go a long way to convincing people that he is a breath of fresh air.

Yeah his speech was a good one and no he wont.
People are riding on him so much, the message of change is too big. He cant achieve so much within his term. The hopes are too high, people expect too much and there will be much disappointment. His advisers on the middle east/foriegn policy are all zionists at the moment, what happened to change we need ? He could have at least balanced it.

Muslim voters love Obama for the same reason that non-Muslim voters do.

1.) His intelligence and great speaking skills.

2.) His promising economic policies.

3.) The fact that he's not George Bush.

But we ignore that numerous times on his campaign websites, he has referred to "Islamic extremism" and "its dangers", and he continues to deny claims that he is a Muslim as it if was a bad thing.

This man decieves a lot of the Muslims in that he pretends to want to stop the war on the Muslim lands- in reality, if you read his statements, he simply wants to move the war from 'Iraaq to Afghanistan and Pakistan.

As one brother phrased it, "Obama should add a nice flavor to the crusade against Islaam". lol

And Imaam Anwar al-Awlaki wrote an interesting article on the US elections. I'll post it Insha'Allah. smile.gif

and to continue repeating his denied claims is pointless and ineffective. Republicans used the topic of whether Obama is Muslim as a form of attack since the religion or faith of the candidate shouldn't matter. On the one hand he had the right to correct them in stating his actual religion; on the contrary he should have said it's 'okay' to be an american-muslim. But it only goes to show the ugly side of the country's politics for a candidate to avoid mental connection or relation with muslims for the sake of his own campaign. Surrendering to political fear.

I've a feeling he understands how to not associate every muslim to extremists and what not. He's aware of discrimination - the country experienced what's known as a symbolic success in that years ago he could not have run as president.

By watching his speech he certainly did send away vibes of inspiration and hope, yet those are just words for now. There is so much to change that it's impossible to fix all of it in a short period of time, but may as well start somewhere. It'll take longer than 4 years for the world mess to be cleaned up, how on earth will he live up to these expectations? But, I have a feeling that the administration will follow through at least some of their promises. He represents change. Given that, it is too early to say if that change will be for better.

At the moment I'm having reservations as to whether the major foreign policies will change, concerning Iran, Pakistan et al. Strategies toward goals can. He's a charismatic leader, but he'll be part of an organization in which he will have to play by the rules. All the talks about change is overwhelming at this stage...I concur with iamcrazy and rizwan. It is a test of time.

Shaz-

Do you support this man or even show any interest in the laws of the Kuffaar which clearly contradict the Shari'ah of Allah Ta'ala? Keep in mind this man has appointed a Zionist as his Chief of Staff, Rahm Emmanuel- and this is one of the many ways which he shows his hatred for the Muslimeen.

Are you aware that he has vowed to go after and attack the Mujaahideen and the establishers of the Shari'ah? He doesn't want the Kaffir troops out of our lands, he merely wants them out of 'Iraaq and into Pakistan!

This man decieved people with his eloquent voice, while McCain's hatred for Islam and Muslims is far less hidden. Either way, they are still at war with the Muslims, and their country is still at war with the Muslim Ummah until they withdraw all their soldiers from our lands.

Qatalahumullah. Ameen!!

Are these our leaders?

Or are these:

Wasalaam!

Easy tiger, no where have I stated specifically I support anyone... other than what is impartially outlined in my previous post. Perhaps you should read it again...

My simple answer for you will be reiterated from what I said thus far:

Surrendering to political fear. (since it's political, suspicion is justified, but it's pointless to be quick in expecting bad news, making doomsday-esque predictions)

He represents change. Given that, it is too early to say if that change will be for better.

At the moment I'm having reservations as to whether the major foreign policies will change, concerning Iran, Pakistan et al. Strategies toward goals can (i.e a different approach to policies). He's a charismatic leader, but he'll be part of an organization in which he will have to play by the rules.

Do the math.

Salaams.
