What Is The Real Cause Of Mans Distress? Options

Each of us is perplexed as to why human life is so lacking in peace and security. Why are we so frequently faced with such troubles and hardships? why have our systems and laws gone awry? We are forever seeing nations falling foul of one another, country struggling against country, men tearing one another apart like wolves. Millions of people are being killed, wounded, or displaced by wars. Homes are being destroyed, and property and buisinesses worth billions of pounds are being devastated. Strong are crushing the weak, the rich are exploiting the poor, the goverments are tyrannical and oppressive, and the so-called guardians of law and order are corrupt and unjust. The rich man is intoxicated by his wealth and the man in authority is consumed with arrogance. There is no loyalty in friendship, and promises are easily broken. Man has lost faith in man. Humanity is divided into countless groups,parties,tribes, each of which is trying to harm others by force,by fraud, by whatever means it has at it's disposal.

you make it sound like its a totally new thing. Humans have been like this for thousands and thousands of years. its just an aspect of us that make us human.

I think it depends on your enviroment, how your brought up and the people close to you, what thier influence is on you but thats one individual

I agree with saira and simba, and in light of what they said I'll put forward my point of view. What it is really, is that man's goal is his own happiness- he will chase after his passion and then be the victim of his own stupidity. Environment or society shapes human behavior and in return human behavior shapes the environment- is why you have corruption at an increased level nowadays.
And example would be, with increased technology consisting of the media, constant coverage of islamic terrorism and related matters put a bad image on Islam, disagreements arise from this, people respond in a negative manner yet some choose to respond in a positive manner. Where there are an increase in lone parent families, young boys have a lack of male role models hence likely to turn to laziness or be work shy... the underclass where parents are work shy or can't be bothered to work- their children are likely to turn to criminal activities etc.
Some countries are led by dictators hence citizens have very little or no say in matter, also being deprived of material goods, a decent education and housing. There's greed in people and much more... these aspects are not a natural thing in a human, but it comes from a natural thing within humans and that is known as feelings. Feelings are complex, it can make a person go too far with his/her emotions and that's all they want to feel and be. Rich people enjoy their wealth, they like what they've got and to see it all gone would be hard to take for them. Poor people on the other hand, who's environment is deprived of money and decent shelters etc will be attached to feelings of stress, sadness, perhaps they'll turn to patience...

I reckon the route cause is that man wants his own happiness, some will choose the wrong path influenced by surroundings to achieve that happiness- others will choose the right path yet undergo hardship from opposing groups.
