1. I was wondering in Islam is it ok for a non-arab
Muslim man to marry an Arab woman? What are the conditions for a
non-arab Muslim man to marry an Arab woman?

2. Is it ok for a non-arab Muslim man to marry a woman from the Quraish tribe.

3. Is it ok for non-arab Muslim man to marry a woman from the prophet's family.

4. How important is the concept of Kafa when it comes to marriage. Which is
more important Kafa or someones Iman when looking for a marriage
partner.

5. If a non Arab Muslim man marry an Arab woman or Quraish
woman without the approval of woman`s father is the marriage contract
valid. For example is it ok for a Chinese or black Male convert to Marry an Arab woman. Is it ok for them to marry a Quraish woman?
Is it ok for them to marry a woman from the prophet's family. What are the requirements for them to marry an Arab woman. Please give me evidence from Quran and Sunnah.

I ask this question because I heard that some of Islam`s great scholar did not allow this kind of marriage. For example Imam shafi and Ibn Tamiya did not permit Arab women to marry non arab men. While on the other hand I heard that Imam Malik permitted this type of marriage. What is the correct understanding on this topic.

If a non arab man is not permitted to marry an Arab woman is it because there is a caste system in Islam.

If interracial marriage is permitted than why in the Muslim world you see no interracial mixing. In the west you see many mixed race couples. For example white-Asian, white-black, black-Asian, dark skin-light skin, latin - black, Latin - Asian, Latin white, and etc. Why in the Muslim world there are hardly any mixed race couples. Interracial mixing is what creates real unity.

an arab is not superior to a non-arab, and vice versa.

there is no restriction based on race.

the key quality to look for in a partner above all is piety.

however, what people follow is a mix of islam and culture. so this lack of racial restriction might not be apparent.

Islam never have these type of limitations, ALL OF THE MUSLIM ARE SAME,, and the one who is strong in his belief, is more close to God.. so A Muslim can marry any where he wants..

I'm a half Korean, half American Muslim convert, married to a Tunisian.

How much more interracial can you get?

I've never heard from any scholars that marriage has limitations based on race, and in fact there is a lot of evidence to disprove this. Could you provide the evidence you mentioned from where you heard scholars advocating the opposite? The main factor in a marriage should be the level of faith in both parties and this is a well known fact in Islam.

You see interracial marriages in the West, due to the reason that a lot of people from different countries immigrate to the West, compared to Muslim countries. Therefore, since there are a bunch of cultures living together it's inevitable that some are going to intermarry. Would I say this happens a lot in the West as you described? No. It happens, but the vast majority of Westerners will marry within their race.

However, you will find a lot of Muslim converts that marry Muslims from different races within the USA and Europe, so this isn't an Islamic issue, but rather an availability and location issue. I, personally, know four other sisters who are Caucasian and have Arab husbands, one who is married to an Indian, and another half Korean half American sister who is engaged to an Arab. In fact, I will argue that this is a common phenomenon with Western women converts as out of all the sisters I've met, only one was married to a caucasian, and that was because she was married to him already before both of them decided to convert to Islam.

People just don't immigrate to Muslim countries for a number of reasons and that's why there aren't many interrracial couples in Muslim countries....because there's just one race available to marry into.

Marrying within your race doesn't mean that you are a racist bigot, so I'm not saying that Westerners who marry between each other are. The fact of the matter is that understanding, connecting and communication are paramount to making a relationship last, and it's easier to find that with someone who shares the same culture, language and traditions as you.

I have been reading about Islamic thought on marriage and lineage for a while. I don't consider myself an expert by any means....but after reading your post tebou it seems that you either didn't read the original post or chose to get your own understanding from it. What ever the case it seems you didn't answer Williams questions. In your response you seem to say a lot about non Arab women marrying Arab men but it seem the poster wasn't even asking about that. He was asking if it is permissible for Arab women or women from the prophet's family to marry an non Arab man, such is it ok for a Korean male convert to Islam to marry a woman from the Quraysh tribe.
The evidence in regards to Muslim scholars mentioned are.

Sheikh-ul-Islam, Ibn Taymiyyah ra.gif was of the opinion that Arabs ARE SUPERIOR (Afdal) than Non-Arabs and he claimed that this was the view that was held by the MAJORITY of the scholars – ‘Al-Jamhoor’- .

He wrote: “And the MAJORITY of scholars are of the opinion that the Arab species is better (Afdal) than the Non-Arab (species) just as the nation of Quraish is better (Afdal) than the Non-Qurai****e nations and (just as) the nation of Bani Haashim is better (Afdal) than the Non-Bani Haashim (nations).” Majm’u Al-Fataawa 19/29

Sheikh-ul-Islam, Ibn Taymiyyah ra.gif wrote:

“Verily, what Ahlul Sunnah is upon: Is the BELIEF (I’tiqaad) that the Arab race is better (Afdal) then the Non-Arab race. Whether (the Non-Arabs) are Hebrews, Aramaic, Romans, Persians and other than them…”. Iqtidaa As-Siraatil-Mustaqeem 2/419

Abu Muhammad, Harb ibn Ismail ibn Khalaf Al-Kirmaany (died 280 – ra) who was one of the students and companions of Imaam Ahmed ra.gif also mentioned this point when he wrote about the descriptions and BELIEFS of the PEOPLE OF THE SUNNAH.


Shiekh-ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah ra.gif said:

“Know that the Ahaadith (that show) the superiority of Quraish and then the superiority of Bani Haashim are numerous and this is not the place (to gather all of them) but they also prove this (superiority of the Arab over Non-Arabs).

And this is due to the fact that the relationship of Quraish to the Arabs is just like the relationship of the Arabs to the rest of the people (i.e. Qurai****es are superior to Non-Qurai****es and the Arabs are superior to Non-Arabs). Verily Allah the Most High has designated the Arabs and their language with ‘Ahkaam’ that are peculiar and unique.

And then He preferred Quraish over the rest of the Arabs in what He has given them of prophecy and other than that from the ‘Khasaais’ (unique and peculiar qualities)”. Iqtidaa As-Siraat-il-Mustaqeem 2/431

Sheikh-ul-Islam, Ibn Taymiyyah ra.gif also said:

“…The superiority of the Arab race and then (the superiority of) Quraish and then (the superiority of) Bani Haashim, is not simply due to the fact the Prophet (peace be upon him) is from them – even though this is (a point) of superiority – but instead, they themselves are superior within themselves“. Iqtidaa As-Siraatil-Mustaqeem 2/420
----------------------------------------------------------The fact that Allah Most High has chosen the Arabs over other nations is affirmed in rigorously authenticated hadiths of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and give him peace; related by Bukhari and Muslim in their "Sahih" in the beginning of the chapter of merits, # 5897, on the authority of Wathilah ibn al-Asqa` who said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, 'Verily Allah has chosen Kinanah from the son of Isma`il, and He has chosen Quraysh from among Kinanah and He has chosen Hashim from among Quraysh and He has chosen me from the Bani Hashim.'"
So this hadith is a primary text about the preference of Arabs over others and the preference of some Arabs over other Arabs. And this is what the Imams have chosen from the.........of their books, and even in individual books such as the book of Qurb about the merit of Arabs, authored by the great Imam al-Hafiz Zayn al-din al-`Iraqi. And it was summarized by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Hajar al-Haytami and others.

I have even read about Kafa is a big thing in marriage. And Kafa is only considered for men not women. So lineage is a big thing. That is racist!!!

Here is some more about racism.

Shem, the son of Noah was the father of the Arabs, the Persians, and the Greeks; Ham was the father of the Black Africans; and Japheth was the father of the Turks and of Gog and Magog who were cousins of the Turks. Noah prayed that the prophets and apostles would be descended from Shem and kings would be from Japheth. He prayed that the African’s color would change so that their descendants would be slaves to the Arabs and Turks.

Ham [Africans] begat all those who are black and curly-haired, while Japheth [Turks] begat all those who are full-faced with small eyes, and Shem [Arabs] begat everyone who is handsome of face with beautiful hair. Noah prayed that the hair of Ham’s descendants would not grow beyond their ears, and that whenever his descendants met Shem’s, the latter would enslave them.

A man of B. al-'Ajilan told me that he was told that Gabriel came to the apostle and said, 'There comes to sit with you a black man with long flowing hair, ruddy cheeks, and inflamed eyes like two copper pots. His heart is more gross than a donkey's; he carries your words to the hypocrites, so beware of him.' This, so they say, was the description of Nabtal.[2]
Ishaq:243

"I have heard the Apostle say: 'Whoever wants to see Satan should look at Nabtal.' He was a sturdy black man with long flowing hair, inflamed eyes, and dark ruddy cheeks. He used to come and talk with the Prophet and listen to him. He would carry what he had said to the hypocrites. Nabtal said, 'Muhammad is all ears. If anyone tells him something he believes it.' Allah sent down concerning him: 'To those who annoy the Prophet and say that he is all ears, say, 'Good ears for you.' For those who annoy the Apostle there is a painful punishment."[2]
