Salaams sister,
I would like to ask your opinion on the following matters.
If a prophet of God could make mistakes like normal human beings, how would his followers know when to follow him and when to correct him?
In order to make up your mind on the concept of prophethood, you must use your common sense. The reason for this is that if the religion of God cannot appeal to people on an intellectual basis before they accept the scriptures of God, how would people be attracted to a religion?
Now for me - a representative of God must be absolutely infallible. His status must be impregnable. There can be no doubt about his character and status as God's representative on Earth. Can you imagine if a prophet got drunk and fornicated, but was preaching to you about religion, morals and ethics???? It is only an infallible prophet who is worthy of representing God and who is capable of being accepted by humans.
Do you accept this logic as fair? Would you accept a person as your prophet who could make mistakes? If so, how do you know which part of the holy book is coming from God and which part is the prophet's error?
Once we establish this necessary platform - i would like to discuss further issues with you if you so wish.
Salaams
Mustafa
