Debate is serious. There is no room for emoticons. They are a form of sarcasm and childishness that just piss people off.

Debates need to be intellectual, not childish. No more emoticons in the debate forums.

It's not so much that we cannot use emotions, its just that people dont use them correctly. They are there for joking/messing around and in debate sections, that is not the purpose.

Imagine it, "your post is ". Pretty offensive dont you think?

I dont think there should be a rule saying it, but people should be warned for using emotions to insult/mock one another.
