blush.gif ...if your extremely immature, is it a bad choice to marry someone 10 years older?
poga
either way it is good choice
\when i say either way i mean if woman is older then you doing SUNNAH like
MUHAMMAD Sallel La Hu Alahi Wa Sallim And Bibi Khadija
if men then there is no problem because even very old men have spermatozoon
While woman after certain age do not have eggs
Binty
It also depends on what you're expecting in marriage - I mean if you're looking forward to growth, learning and experiencing things with your husband you might want to see if he's on almost the same wavelength as yourself.

But it really comes down to whether you love the man 10 years older than you, making sure it's true love which partly derives from a sense of compatibility (you must have got along with the guy and he isn't pushy just cuz he experienced more than you while you still need to gain it. Surely you must have weighed the situation to have noticed the compatibility.). If both of you can understand each other regardless of maturity level and you love the person then why not. Love is the most important factor, that's not to say other factors don't come into play because they do.

If you're 'extremely immature', as you put it, I don't think they're ready for marriage to anyone.
Silly Billy
I agree with dear Blessing, an excellent point.
Jafar
If you are 'extremely immature' it means you are 'extremely na-baaligh'.

And if you are 'extremely na-baaligh' it means you are 'extremely not allowed
to get married according to Islam'.

And if you are 'extremely not allowed to get married according to Islam'
it means you 'extremely should not be doing it'.

Nuff said.

Talk about stealing my limelight mad.gif

I'll leave you though, since you're new... sleep.gif

But seriously, it's right what he said people. Yes. Getting married to anyone isn't ideal.

On a side note, I've heard, if you want your husband to outlive you (according to stats-saying he doesn't die from unnatural circumstances and you BOTH die due to old age) you should marry a guy 5 years your junior.

That had not been my intention.

I had thought of doing so at first, but noticed you didn't have a lot to spare.

Are you quite sure of that?

Judging by both your gender and age, you should not yet be capable of a truly sinister laugh.

It should sound like a mixture between a shriek/squeak, should it not?

Hmm...

But keep practising, you'll master it someday...

But now, so that the staff do not take this as an entirely irrational, foolish,
SPAM-promoting message, I shall say something which is on topic.

'I agree...'

(Pardon the sarcasm.)

I agree with blessings comment on if someones really immature they shouldn't be getting married to anyone.

However, there are quite the few exceptions where the g irl is immature but ready for marriage. i'v seen a couple of couples where the wife is a lot younger than the husband, she's immature but responsible enough to make a marriage work, and the husband though older and maturer not a total old goat, and young enough to chill out. they balance each other.

Personally? i don't think age matters, unless a man is like 80 and the woman 20 or 30, or unless they are totally incompatible. otherwise, age doesn't matter.
JJ
blink.gif I don't see anything wrong with it:-
But would someone marry someone extremely immature laugh.gif thats the question?
Stripey
Does the immature bit have to come in?
My friend is marrying someone who is 9 years older than her. she wasnt so sure at first ( i knew she liked him cuz she kept going on about him). So the advice she was given was not to look at age difference and just look at what the guy is like.
I however don't agree because nowdays age difference is important. 20/30 years ago men married women who were like 10/15 years younger than them and it was normal. I'm not saying it's not normal now (cuz you get oldies like 72 yrs old marrying 18 yrs olds) but there is alot to think about.
Someone thinks they are immature, they can start to sort themselves out. (not in a harsh way)

Im with stripeeh.

Hmmmmmmm.. I personally disagree with marrying people who are more than 8 years older.. and personally I would prefer 6 to be the limit.. coz both of them are from 2 different generations unless the guy is acting 10 years older or something, but still even with that I disagree with it..

and about prophet and Syyida Khadijah.. they are from a very different worlds.. besides the prophet's mind is built to adopt with all types of people, so age isn't the deal for him.. and all his marriages were for a Godly perpouse.. about love.. yes it's important but 5 or so years into the marriage and the age gap would show coz they'll have different views of life..
I'm not judging anyone & it's a peronal choice, but I don't aprove it biggrin.gif

and the “real imature” thing cracked me up... looooool..

let me tell u some real stories from the stupid Saudi society.. many guys in their last 20s or their beinning of 30s marry girls who just graduated from high school.. which I belive is STUPID.. many of them got divorce.. I know some girls who like the 10years gap coz they say the guy would be mature and he'd understand life better...looool

Lol ew
JJ
When people say immature, i seem to think as someone who makes mistakes.
Am i right? if so, i don't think its right at all. In that frame of mind (lol i put mind of frame before) its crazy to jump into the marriage thing.
Plus you could regret it, if you rush things.
So be careful with your decisons.

Bring it on eh eh eh eh blush.gif

Aye no, meh depends. What the.
JahzWolf
Speaking from experience on the other side of the equation, there are issues that need to be considered.

The older one may not want to 'relive' some of the more painful lessons that only life can bring, so that person must be willing, and patient to help guide the younger one thru those, and have extraordinary self confidence to deal with the issues that very old age brings while your partner is much younger, attractive, and outgoing..

There ARE issues, and it really doesn't matter the level of maturity, what matters is the level of patience, and self confidence of the older one...
Silly Billy
I would.

Next question.
Miss JJ
No. For me, it would be pre destined doom seen the levels of my stupidness matched with old age wiseness... i think it would fail. mellow.gif

Now, now lets not jump into conclusions. I haven't even thought about that yet
