Hi, i am new to islam.... and i was wondering what i should be doing to be a good muslim.... memorizing the quran and the hadith is all i know so far and i have been taught how to pray, is there anything else i should know about please help thank you very much
Peace to you and your kin.
Hmmm...you should say instead that you have reverted back to the pure monotheistic Islam. Why do I say this? Because Islam is a state of submission to Allah and everyone and everything borne of this universe is in one way or another in submission to Allah and His will.
I congratulate you for having the strength to return to pure monotheism and acknowledging Allah's call.
IMO, more important than memorizing scripture is internalizing the messaage and lessons learned in scripture and applying them the best as you can in your daily existence.
You probably know the basic tenets so here are other recommendations I can think of:
a) Strive for self-improvement in all aspects of life whether in your career, studies, family life, etc.

Remember that Muslims always start with good and Godly intentions. Endeavor to remove hatred, malice and envy from your mind and heart and replace it with compassion for certainly Allah our Maker is Most Compassionate.
c) Ignorance is a weapon of the Adversary so always feed the mind - studying and research are crucial to Muslim life and in fact Islam strongly urges its adherents towards learning. The Prophet (pbuh) himself said "Seek knowledge even in China" and "A man studying for an hour is preferable to a man who worships for an entire night."
d) Learn to be an independent thinker. Allah has given you a mind so use it to its full extent. There are many charlatans and deceivers even in the Islamic community so be wary.
e) Do not be judgemental. Ultimately, only Allah should judge. Instead always do letter item a)...
Well these are some of the things that I can think of for now. I hope you shall remain strong in the faith. Feel free to ask if you need clarification.
Peace.
