The biggest question i have, and i will print this out to shove in my dads face is.


Are Piercings Restricted in Islam?


I use to go to a Islamic school before i left IFS, (Islamic foundation School)
and i thought anything that harms your body is haraam, piercings dont harm your body ii know tattoos do, and besides im going to take off my piercings sooner or late, but my ear wont close up even if i took it out cuz i stretched them their 1"inch now, i can fit big glow sticks in my ears WOOOO rave Party,

Please tell me.

I had a nose piercing but i took it out becoz i got bored of it. My mum didn't want me to get it done.
Its something you really want but things that you want don't last long.Im going to get it done again, maybe when i get married, but i went thru all that with my mum and then i took it out myself when it kept fallin out at night. Now, i just think why didn't i keep the proper thing in so it wouldn't heal so fast, as for your question of it being haram.
Well culturally its allowed, my grandma has it done in two places and my great grandma in three!
Its like listening to music if u want to you do, but when you get fed up of it you just turn it off, or take the piercing out.
Its just a craze that you go thru cuz u think it would look cool espech if u hang around with emos by the looks of it you do(i used to but now i don't)*
So it looks cool everyone tells u 'wow it looks so good!' then after a month noone tells you it anymore and you take the thing out becoz you've had enough of it.
Thats what happened with me, now i want an eyebrow piercin but that's too crazy! and im scared ill take that one out too.
I just googled it apparantley your not allowed to have a nose piercing but you're allowed to have an ear piercing now which sheik said that??! Well i think its the same the person who said that reasoned that your deforming Allah's creation by piercing your nose but the same can be said for the ears.
However!
Ear piercing for males isn't allowed cuz its for the females thats what it says here;

Anyway.. the only haram part in piercing is when you do it wanting to look like a woman. In this case it'll be Haram.. coz as you know Islam wants men to stay men and wants women to stay women without confusing a gender with another..

about your dad.. it's not like he can do anything abt it.. sooo, he'll get used to it.. just don't go all crazy and pierce the rest of ur body. What's done is done now..

ok about Tattoos.. let me shock you.. it's HALA for some Shia scholars
they have some conditions like don't tattoo Allah's names.. coz u'll go to the bathroom and that won't be respectful. But other than that it's hala

A: In itself, there is no objection to it. However, if it is considered as an adornment, it should be covered in front of non-mahrams.

Well i could say my nose piercing is not considered as an adornment and my ear piercing is.

I used to have my ear pierced, but elders told me im imitating kusreh (cross dressers) so i took it out. Get henna tattoos, they are temporary. Permanent are haraam. Also you cannot draw pictures of animals / humans.

Heard that one before. But for this dude that had an eyebrow piercing, my mate kept on sayin he was a kusra

y scholars? Good question JJ.. so let me tell you why...

there are many shiks and scholars, but the ones that we follow are chosen based on very specific criteria, and we call them “marjea”. I'm not sure how many we have, but I'm pretty sure we have around 20 or something. I'm sure of only 7
you'll have to chose one of the “majeas” and follow him in everything.. it's not like you follow whatever u like from each.. no you choose one and stick to his answers.. when he dies it's a different story..

ok, back to your question of y we choose them. Ok their job is to interpret and explain what's their in Quran and Hadith because as you know some things aren't that clear of unknowledgeable people like us. So, they do the hard job for us, and they get all the rules about the new stuff like tattoos, and other things that weren't directly mentioned..

I was thinking of getting the crescent moon and star on my shoulder (up to the neck) but i think it just makes a person look cheap. Allah tala has given me beautiful skin (Alhamdulilah), why take it for granted? You people should think about that.

I never agreed with the logic that piercings and dying hair are defroming the body even though i can understand why some people may say so. Piercings can heal themselvs and aren't permenant and you would know if you see a guy walking down the street that purple isn't his natural hair color. But i guess it all depends on you and your level of comfort. If you feel like you are doin something wrong just dnt do it.
