I like thick accents, and the Irish accent somewhat too. Some American accents are nice, others not so much.

My own accent is... er.... well, south Britain-ish, not the typical Brummy accent, and yeah...
Nazia1987
my accent is weird and an infusion of a few different ways of thinking so it can be hard to describe but I'll do my best biggrin.gif

I have a very thick American accent not really specific to one region of the US fused with a bit of ebonics and Indian English biggrin.gif Some words I say super super Indian :/ arg so embarassing. My ghetto accent still lingers instead of "her" "huuur" instead of "fifty" "fiddy" instead of "dollars" "dalus", things like that. For you Brits if I am confusing you, I think this might be something like the American equivalent of a ****ney accent though I'm not sure!! guitar.gif (note: this guitar smiley has no relevance, I just saw it on the list and thought it looked cool biggrin.gif )

Favorite accent? Australian!

Haha I was wondering when Breezie was going to pick her ingenious brain and come out with a ridiculously awesome thread tongue.gif

@Breezie/Binty, what on earth is a "chavy" accent?

@ Nazia - I know exactly what you described haha! just too funny!

About my accent, people in Sri Lanka say I have an American accent. People in America say I have a Sri lankan accent with touch of colonized British English. People in England say I have an American accent. So, I'm not sure where to pin it..
Breeze
Oh a chavvy accent is awful Deez. I went to a highschool full of chavs everytime they opened their trashy mouths, nothing intelligent came out just stupidity and cussing.

You all seem to have interesting accents! happy.gif

i dont have an accent...only other people do...
Breeze
^ Even i think that but when i hear others then i realise how different we sound depending on the place. My cousins sound different some words they pronounce according to their dialect and people they hang around with. smile.gif

Like Breeze I live in Yorkshire but my accent varies dependind on who I'm talking too or around. For example I used to have an Scotish accent when I visited my Grandparents and sometimes I sound like I'm from london as that is where I spent alot of my childhood. My mum raised me to use 'proper English' so my Yorkshire often sounds a little posh lol. And after watching Jayne Austen films or period-dramas I seem to talk very well indeed lol.

Assalamu alaikum (Peace be upon you)

I was born in the northern United States and have been told I have what they call a "pittsburgh" accent (since I was born near there) but mostly I get told I "talk like a yankee", but I have lived in the southern part of the United States for 7 years and now have a bit more of a southern accent...so I guess my accent is a southern yankee. lol

examples:
coke..pepsi...-(northern) Pop (southern) Soda
Creek- Crick
Roof-Ruf
You all -y'all or better yet the northern yinz
I dont really say Ruf or Crick but my family does it's a northern thing I do say y'all and soda happy.gif

I had to add this song here about my homestate of Pennsylvania because it's funny...and true lol.
